Hi my name is Mrs Troughton,

My job is SENCO (special needs co-ordinator).

I work with all the other teachers in school, to help them support children in their classes who might have a special need.

We have a team of Learning support assistants who work either with individuals, or small groups of children alongside the class teacher to help those children who have difficulties to access the curriculum.

I also arrange for specialist teachers or perhaps an educational psychologist to visit school, and assess children who may experience difficulties in an area of the curriculum.  They will then give advice to parents and teachers or perhaps arrange for some extra help to be provided.
